OSHAWA, ON – The Oshawa FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced that defenceman Joe Nardella will miss the 2025-2026 season due to injury.
Nardella sustained a knee injury during an exhibition game in November. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready to return for the 2026-2027 FireWolves season.
“Recovery and return are my only goals right now and I look forward to helping the team and playing in front of the fans in Oshawa,” said Nardella.
The Cazenovia, NY native has been with the FireWolves organization since 2020 and is one of the best faceoff men in the NLL. In 66 career games he has collected 24 points (7g, 17a), 559 loose balls, 44 caused turnovers, 17 blocked shots, and has won 1,078 faceoffs in his career on 1,656 faceoffs taken for a 65% win percentage.
As part of the team’s leadership group, Nardella will remain around the FireWolves and provide a veteran voice throughout the 2025-2026 season.
The FireWolves wish Nardella the best of luck during his recovery.
Oshawa is back in action this Saturday, January 3 against the Ottawa Black Bears for Indigenous Heritage Night at the Tribute Communities Centre.
